My Youtube videos are no longer playing using the Adobe Captivate widget. It's adding "Googleapis.com" after the http// and before the rest of the URL.
I tested some videos today and all appears to be working normal again with and without the YouTube playbar. Has anyone else tested their videos with the widget?

*Update, I notice when I select to remove the play bar in the YouTube widget options the video does not overlap, however, if I do not remove the play bar, the video overlaps. Any ideas?

I'm finding the same thing. I keep testing different settings, but I have the feeling I'm going to have to go in and adjust every video in every course. I'll update my help ticket to see if I get any answers and reply here.

Publish in HTML5 for it to work correctly. Here is thread with more information:

Adobe is saying to remove the playbar. Problem. I feel that the user needs a playbar to be able to stop and replay parts of the video if needed. I'm looking at several days worth of work to correct this issue on all of these courses. I'm still working through several of the suggestions in this post. Some work and some don't. We host our courses on our own website, so there's no LMS. I need to figure out a viable plan for our courses and my team that will still enable us to meet this quarter's goals. Right now, I'm leaning towards resizing each video...

Have you tried the web object or event video?

Yes, web object works. Event video... I don't want to self-host if possible because the videos are all publicly housed on our YouTube channel. I don't want one more thing to manage. The problem with Web Object is that I'm looking at downloading 50+ Captivate courses and about 150-200 videos that will have to be changed. Not fun. I don't want to remove the playbar because the user needs to be able to take notes/start/stop video. I'm playing around with HTML5 publishing now. Any suggestions?

HTML5 worked fine for me. The issue is with SWF.

Do you have your courses hosted in a LMS? Otherwise, t You may also try a hyperlink to the vids you have on youtube so the user can use the playbar. The web objects will let you change the dimensions of the browser window when it opens in a new window if you set it to open in a new window.

Mine are on Adobe Connect. The issue is that Adobe is discontinuing support for Flash and YouTube has changed their API. My project would work when testing using F11, but fail when using F12. F11 previews using HTML5 and F12 previews using Flash. Another thing to check is make sure you're using the latest interaction. This can be done by selecting the blue I button under the properties tab. The latest version is 17.

I contacted Adobe a few times about this issue, I was never told they are discontinuing support with YouTube or Flash. Where did you hear this? I was told by Adobe yesterday that there may be an update and fix to this issue that there "product team" is working on the issue.

You may not have been following this issue closely enough...
YouTube announced about 18 months ago that they would be terminating support for the Flash api.
YouTube drops Flash for HTML5 video as default | The Verge
Adobe announced on November 11, 2011 that they would be ceasing development of the Flash Player plugin for mobile device browsers.
And Adobe again gave warning of eventually dropping support for Flash in this post in November 2015:
Flash, HTML5 and Open Web Standards
There have been plenty of blog posts around about this by others in the Captivate community:
What the 'Death of Flash' Means for E-learning Developers | Infosemantics Pty Ltd
Bottom line is that you should be pushing your management or clients to move toward HTML5. Flash and SWF do NOT appear to have a future in e-learning development.

Anita,
I'm not sure which link it is that you are talking about. I've not seen a fix for this problem, but I've used the suggested work around with using "web object" to upload the YouTubes.

Updating to Captivate 9 and using "Web Object" to upload the YouTube videos works!
You have to play with sizing, but it is a solution to have the videos work.
