I'm interested to learn if their is a way to add a border around a still image in captivate. so when you look at the screen it has the border around. could i place the movie or image over the border or vice versa?? or could i use a transparent gift?

highlight box is an option.

or copy and paste the image into photoshop, add your stroke (border) to it, then import it back in as a bitmap. (i'd prefer this way if at all possible as it avoids more timeline clutter)

let me try and clarify. i don't mean the highlight box that you can do inside captivate. i understand that aspect. i mean can you add a border around the whole image that you capture for your simulation? does this make more sense?

Hi smejus57

If you are asking if Captivate can dynamically add a border, the answer is no. However, you may want to investigate SnagIt by TechSmith. Fabulous little screen capture application.

SnagIt allows the image processing you are referring to. (assuming, of course, I'm correctly understanding you.

Cheers... Rick

what about adding a highlight box on slide one and setting it to "rest of movie"

Here's a real simple trick.. add a Highlight box, but set the "highlight filling" to 100% transparency, and then make your border rather thickish.. say 4 pts or 6 pts for a really thick border. Works like a charm.

let me try and clarify even more. for the simulation that i developed using captivate. i had developed a introduction slide, and on that slide, had a nice border around the slide developed, then dropped into the slide in captivate. my question is, if it hasn't already been answered, can I take that border and place it on the other slides in the simulation? the other slides are images that i captured for the simulation?

make better sense now?
