Animate CC SWF files won't play in published file

I am building screens with swf animations that were built in Animate CC.  The animations do not have any interactions built in Animate, and when opened in Flash Player or a browser, it plays fine.  Once I put it in the Captivate screen and [Preview] the screen, it works fine as well and plays the animation.  However, once I publish it in HTML5, it does not move past the first frame of the animation and just shows up as a still image.  Ideas?

HTML5 + SWF is troublesome, to say the least.

Is it possible for you to convert/save the Animate SWFs as MP4 and embed those into the project?

SWF animations for HMTL5 output, looks very weird. Why do you not create HTML animations with Animate?

We have moved to using animated gif files and they appear to work well.  However, when we move to the next screen and then go back, the animation does not play when we select the animation display advanced action. Essentially, we replace a still graphic (first frame of the animation) with the animated .gif and unhide it.  I have looked through the Q&As and cannot seem to find anything related to animations only playing through one time.
