Autorun

I have tried both .ini and .inf files on the CD with the movie, but the only autorun that pops up is what is on the disc. I want the file to just start on insertion. Help!

Here is how I have created my auto-run cd's with Captivate:

1. Select File > Publish > Standalone
2. Open the Browse window to select CD-RW Drive
3. Select Full Screen and Genereate autorun for CD in Output Options box
4. Press the Publish button

Once the file is complete, burn it to CD.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, but that's what I did to begin with, but I only get a window where I need to select the movie. That's why I tried the .ini and .inf to get it to just run without any intervention.

Hi Geri

Sorry, but your post is a bit confusing. You are talking about two different files (an .INI and a .INF). AFAIK, the only file involved with autorun is the autorun.inf. I'm not sure where you are seeing the .INI file.

For me, the curious part is what you are actually seeing when things launch. It certainly sounds to me as if the actual movie isn't being found for some reason and instead you are seeing the standard Windows explorer listing the files on the CD.

Autorun tips.

* Keep your movie name short, following the "8.3" naming convention.
* Avoid using spaces in the movie file name.

Cheers... Rick 🙂
