What are the main differences between Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline?

Articulate Storyline costs more, but has a very strong user community (e-Learning Heroes) - it seems like all the forum questions are answered clearly and promptly there. Storyline seems oriented towards designers - lots of free resource downloads and more characters with more variations than Captivate offers. Storyline is more PowerPoint oriented, while Captivate has a long history with Software simulations. Captivate seems to have the edge currently with mobile devices and seems stronger to me with their Advanced Actions, Conditional Actions, Shared Actions and JavaScript, although Storyline has their version of these features.
It seems there are more LMS integration problems discussed on the Storyline forums. Maybe it's a difference in the users.

Sorry but you forgot the functionality of shared actions (resue your actions, you only have to change parameters) and external (script) libraries. Libraries are a big time saver...
Captivate has collaboration and/or roundtripping functionality with Photoshop, Audition, Illustrator (using Smart objects in PS), Acrobat, Edge Animate, PhoneGap, Edge Inspect.
