Keynote to powerpoint to captivate best practices

Hello,  I have 75 keynote (mac) files that I need to develop in Captivate.   I would like these to be r   esponsive, I know this is not possible with PPTs files.  My question:  Should I spend the time and money to hire some to develop a responsive project or should I use the import PPT function.  I want to use best practices and my gut is telling me hire a captivate expert.  Any thoughts?  Should I use the templates provided within Captivate and give it a go?  

I do have experience with captivate but I am not an expert.

Some contradiction: you cannot use PPT import to create a responsive project at all. This means there is only one answer, or do I misunderstand?

I know.  Should I start over with a responsive project or start with importing/linking to PPT?  What do you think is the best practice.  Thanks for your help.

It depends which output you want? If you want a responsive project, forget about importing or linking to a PPT totally. You'll be able perhaps to use some assets, but will have to set them up for all breakpoint views (using the Position Properties panel). If you are OK with a non-responsive project, you can import PPT-slides but have to know that each PPT-slide will be like a movie-clip, trying to mimick all the animations. There are no individual objects, which means no way to synchronize with audio (if needed), to add interactivity etc.

That would depend on what your goal is. Do you need it quickly and done to a professional level, or can you take your time and create it incrementally as you become more proficient in Captivate. One route gives you a professional level product you can use immediately, the other strategy gives you a pretty good product, but imbues you with a new skill and experience which will come in really handy down the road.

In terms of using Keynote slides, the general consensus, I think, is to not import, but instead to recreate the slides in Captivate as that will give you far more control and options.
