I created a shape with the "Use as Button" Option.
The first thing is, every time the user clicks on the button it shrinks (maybe 10-20% of the original size) for the "down" state.
There is no option to activate or deactivate this feature??
The next problem is, if you drag out of the button, while holding it down (the shrink state), the button will stay shrinked. Over and over again. The button is getting smaller.
No offense.. but WTF?

I've only recently started using states, but I tried to duplicate your problem and couldn't.
When you open the State View of your shape button is the Down state different from the Normal state?
I was able to modify the corner rounding of my Down state box shape and I could replace the Down state box with a different shape but I could not change the size or location of it to shrink it as you stated. That was set firm for all three of my states.
You really lost me regarding the "dragging out of the button" while holding it down. Perhaps someone else can jump in.

Shape buttons always have shrinked when pressed, but you exaggerate with 10-20%; it is much less.
@Tinkertrainer You cannot see that in State view, there the states all have the same size and position (it is locked).
However I couldn't reproduce your second problem, with continuous shrinking. It used to be a problem many versions ago, but cannot see this in the latest version.

I see what he means now, Lieve. I thought he meant there was some button shrinkage other than the little click-shrink they all have. My bad.
Thanks!

I got the latest version of CP9. First of all, why is the button shrinking at all? I don't want the button small. This should be a selectable feature, and not automatically. Click the button, hold the mouse clicked and scroll out of the button, while holding. The button stays small.

I know, but at this moment, this is the only way that shows a button behavior on master slides for shape buttons. Since those shape buttons cannot have states at this moment (they could have them in CP8). It seems to be a remainder from earlier versions (6?) where the shape buttons only had two states: normal and pressed. The pressed state is that 'shrinking' state.
I tried by all means to reproduce the continuous shrinking, but it is not happening for me. Can you explain: is this after publishing or during Preview? Are you talking about HTML or SWF output?

Sorry, I can now confirm your observation. A square shape button of 300px side, will shrink about 4px (both vertically and horizontally) at each dragout while keeping mouse down. After 5 repetitions this leads to 20px. I reported a bug. First screenshot is original button, second the one after 5 dragouts. Distance between vertical and horizontal lines is 10px

It's a problem I get a lot. it happens when you resize or move the smart shape after the states have been made for it. It is really annoying, and I don't know of any fix for it yet. I just delete it and make a new one.

Hmm, you are talking about something else than what is specified in the original question. That one was for the behavior after publishing, not while editing a cptx file. Did you upgrade to 9.0.1.320? I have no problems with moving buttons that have states anymore in that version. But the shrinking (is by desing) and the phenomenon described here when moving out the mouse while in the down state is a bug IMO.

I think it's almost a joke that developers of CP decide that the button will be automatically shrinked. If I want the button to shrink, then I can change the state by my own graphic design. That you can not change this shrinking is a fault.
