Floating character only after imported to After Effects. Help!

I can't figure out what the issue is, here.  Within Ch An, the character moves and pivots normally.  But, as soon as I import it into After Effects, the character appears to be floating instead of pivoting from the fixed point.  Both are in 24 fps, so not sure what could be causing this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could you include a screen shot? I have not heard of that one before! Is it a recording that you are playing back?

That is an odd one. The one thing that comes to mind is that in Ch, in memory rehearsal state will affect what you see, but Ae is only going to see the results of persisted settings and recorded performances.

Do you have any settings to parameters applied with the red arming buttons? Those will apply to rehearsal (the "live" state that you see when not playing back or recording), but would not be sent to After Effects because they are not saved.

Is it also different in Ch when you play the scene versus just observing the scene while stopped (rehearsal mode)?

Yeah, what's even stranger is that I went back and re-recorded the face movements (w/ the camera), just in case it was an odd glitch....and when I played it back it looked normal for several seconds and then suddenly slipped into float mode.  When I stopped playback and started it again, the part that was just floating then moved normally (tilting side to side vs sliding/floating side to side).  Seems like when I let it play for a while it slips into float mode.  ??

Regardless, when I import into AE, it switches between tilting and floating quite randomly.  Seems like something is getting lost in translation between the two platforms.  Very odd indeed!

Normally, I'd add a screen shot, but I'm bound to an NDA with the company I'm working for, so i can't share any of the elements.  Aaargh.

Can you reproduce the issue with a different puppet (one of the Ch templates) that you could share? That's probably a worthwhile experiment anyway. If it does repro, you can post the screenshots then, if it doesn't we know we're looking for what's different in the puppet's structure and can start peeling off layers to track down the crucial detail.
