Nonverbal characters with just 3 expressions?

Enthusiast ,

Since my characters do not speak, and there is no reason for sad or angry, I have 3 variations of the mouth. Smile, grin, and closed lips with slight upturn.  I have deleted all lip sync layers from blank.psd.  Are there specific triggers for just 3 stages of a smile? Are there correct names for 3 stages of a smile?

Thanks!

Yeah, if you need to control from the camera, you have 3 states:

1. Neutral

2. Smile (when it detects a smile)

3. Surprise (triggered by the mouth size)

Keyboard triggers are generally more reliable though.

You will need to manually set up those triggers.

Thanks, will my mouth control them? I saw this on another question from 2016.  ...It appears that there are only three things that can be triggered with the Mouth Tag...via the camera.. Neutral, Smile and Surprise, is this right?...

No, you will need to control them via keyboard or other controller. I'm afraid the currently CH only has three non-audio mouth positions: Neutral, Smile and Surprise ("O" expression). If you want to use your face, you would need to program your 3 mouth expressions to match those three, for instance neutral could be your closed lips expression.

Thanks! It sounds like I could call the Grin Surprise, and call the closed lips slight upturn Neutral.  And then use my  surprise face to hack the grin.
