How soon will we be able get Coldfusion 10 developer edition for Windows 8?  The current 10 download 64bit will not install.

I found this but I just find it hard to believe 3-5 months on a operating system that has been avaialble for developing for sometime now.    I have already been running it a month.

That's the price you pay for being an "early adopter".  I wonder how many people will upgrade to Windows 8 as soon as it is released, versus hanging back a bit until more applications catch up.  Frankly, I would hope Adobe would continue to focus on the server OS platforms where it will be deployed for production first, then on the development platforms second.

In an ideal world, Adobe could/should have been testing against pre-release versions of these OS's (primarily Windows Server 2012) so that the installers would be available already.  However, to be fair, until an OS is released to manufacturing (aka the "Gold Master"), things can constantly change.  Trying to hit a "moving target" is not always an effective use of resources.
