Hi, I bought HS ( Homesite ) 5.5 many years ago and over time I have unfortunately lost the installation file, the one where it asks for your serial which I still have, I have searched for the software but none of the software I have found asks for the serial, can anyone point me in the right direction or even kindly share their installation file.

Thanks.

    Hi David

The excellent CFML repo has the file you need

You might want to try contacting the original vendor or checking archived versions on sites like the Wayback Machine or reputable legacy software archives. If you still have a valid serial, they may be able to point you to the correct installer. Hope you get it sorted.

FWIW, the "original vendor" was Nick Bradbury, and the product was acquired by Allaire, who was then acquired by Macromedia, who was then acquired by Adobe. The last releases were during the Macromedia timeframe over 20 years ago.

As such, Adobe is technically the "original vendor" but they have never and will never support it.

Really, folks, it's time to move on. Pretty much the whole IT world has moved to VSCode (or variants of it, like vscodium, cursor, and so on), which is free and fast like HS was. (It's simply different, which I realize is like learning to write with your other hand.)

And Adobe created a free ColdFusion Builder extension for vscode a couple of years ago. Again, sure, change is hard. At some point the benefit will exceed the cost. I'm just sharing info.

FWIW, I'll be doing a talk on "Getting Going with CFBuilder" at the Adobe CF Online Summit (series of webinar) happening later this month, which is also free and will be recorded .

    Thank you Mike.

I thought I was home dry for a moment.

It will not accept my serial for some reason, usually when I have installed before, you enter the serial, I cut n pasted and you see a green tick appear, but not this time and the ok button is not active so I am not able to progress?  Any ideas what can be the problem.  I will try another version like 5.0 rather than 5.5 or something.

    Thanks again.
