Encountering 500- internal server error in both coldfusion administrator and localhost web application.

Could you please start the ColdFusion from the command prompt and share the output here?
Open command prompt as admin, navigate to \ColdFusionxxxx\cfusion\bin folder, and run cfstart.bat and share the output.

Hi vikram, Thanks for your response.The below mentioned info was displayed after running cfstart.bat.
C:\ColdFusion2016\cfusion\bin>cfstart.bat
Either the server is already running or some other application is using the HTTP port 8500.

@Lakshana25791464a4u8 It seems like the server is running in the back end. Please go ahead and kill all the C.F services from the task manager and re-run the command.
P.S: The CF2016 has reached the end of its life, and we will recommend upgrading to the latest version, CF2021 or CF2018.
