Hello all,

I am running CF2021 version 5. Should I SKIP 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 and upgrade to 16 directly? or I have to upgrade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16?

Yes, you may skip updates 6 to 15. ColdFusion's updates are cumulative. It means that, if you applied the most recent ColdFusion 2021 update, namely Update 16, your ColdFusion 2021 installation would include updates 6, 7, ..., 16. 

 

However, if you upgrade from Update 10 or any previous update, you must recreate the connector. In other words, you must then run the Web Server Configuration Tool (\cfusion\runtime\bin\wsconfig.exe on Windows), You will see that, together with other useful information, in the release notes of ColdFusion 2021 Update 16.

While bkbk's answer is true and helpful,. I'd argue you need to consider more, especially in your situation.

 

Everyone "should" read the technotes for each update, of course. But you may be tempted to skip it. You cannot this time, at least in that in your skipping updates 13 and 14 (from March and June), those have potentially breaking changes. You really MUST read the technotes for those.
