Colors look different on iPad

Hi

iPads are pretty consistent - their generic colour space seems to be "DisplayP3". The glossy screen does seem, though, to be more suitable for viewing movies etc than for serious colour managed working. I have a P3 version of my testimage here - try this on the iPad in Safari

on my iPhone that testimage looks almost identical to my calibrated MacBook 

Your MacBook 'white point' may be quite bluish and the screen quite bright - that is not abnormal.

It should be calibrated and profiled - the Xrite i1display Pro hardware sensor will do that.

I prefer to use that device with the basICColor display software.

Xrite ColorTRUE for mobile devices seems to have been discontinued

and as I recall it did provide a level of colour management but only to images within it's own gallery window.

NOT in Photoshop.

XRite: "profile is then automatically applied to your images in the ColorTRUE Image Gallery"

It seems virtually no software developers adopted the ColorTRUE invitation to add it into their applications,

The iPad must be calibrated and both displays not have any window light (it's variable) ambient light should be dim and 5000k.  
Then use https://xritephoto.com/ColorTRUE

to make a good iPad profile.
