Hi! I'm writing because the last months I notice something that never happened before.
I Edit raw photos in camera raw, then I get into PS and finish retouching (layers color etc).
But when I export to jpg the color change a lot: dull, less saturated, cooler and les contrast.
I can see this comparing both psd and jpg files in bridge also in finder. Really I don't know what has changed.
always I edited in adobergb 1998 and export like this. Never see difference between psd and jpg, sometimes a very minimum, almost nothig. But know it's too much
I Edit in MacBook Pro 2012 and 2017 both with high Sierra and last adobe versions
if anyone has a clue about that, I will apreciate your help
thanks and cheers
nico
Hi Nico,
I see you work in Adobe RGB, lets see if I can throw any light on this
By the way, best to compare file apearance in Photoshop, not the finder, we know that Photoshop has proper colour management.
If you are exporting via save for web maybe you didn’t check "embed ICC profile"?
I wonder - why do you "export as Jpeg rather than save as and set format to Jpeg?

I suggest this test, I'm asking you to start with a downloaded testimage because that way any file issues or embedded profile problems are ruled out.
1: download the Adobe RGB [free] testimage here
http://www.colourmanagement.net/downloads_listing/
2: open the downloaded image in Photoshop, note the skintone, it's very recealing of colour shifts
does it look natural?
[if not you may have a display profile issue, such issues can affect different aplications differently, it doesn’t happen often on mac though]
3: go to "save as", set the file format to your normal format - "PSD" or 'TIFF' and note that the Adobe RGB profile is embedded.
Discard the downloaded Jpeg - open the new copy, it's a PSD or TIFF now, right
NOW we can get started with the proper test
1: go to "save as" give it an updated name like add 'V2' on the end and set format to to Jpeg, and note that the Adobe RGB profile is embedded.
2: open the new Jpeg you saved in Photoshop, note the skintone, its very recealing of colour shifts - does it have the same appearance?
If so, great
Do you need an sRGB file for web use ? that’s easy, before saving as Jpeg go to edit / convert to profile and set to sRGB
so - all the above should all match visually
now try your customary "export" process - the way you’ve been working that gave thew problem - do be sure to check "emebed icc profile"
how did it go?
I hope this helps
if so, please "like" my reply and if you're OK now, please mark it as "correct", so that others who have similar issues can see the solution
thanks

It sounds like you're not embedding the profile.
You need to check "embed color profile" in the Export dialog, and you need to do it every time. It doesn't stick. Why that checkbox isn't ticked by default is hard to understand, but that's the way it is.

thanks for your answer, it helps a lot and was very complete.
first, Isaid export but I always use save as... not export, I didn't explain my self correctly.
I don't know what ICC profiles exactly, I heard about them a lot and mainly around printing, every color profile are ICC or they are just an especific stylr of profiles?
I always use adobe1998.
The box when I save as JPG is tagged.
The difference between JPG and PSD I notice both in finder and in Adobe Bridge, being more dramatic in finder. In the PSD colors where more vibrant and contrast (as I saw in PS) but the JPG lose lot of color and contrast.
The funny thing is that is not happening anymore. While I publish this I re install MAC OS and adobe software (cleaning computer etc).
I did that in the two macs I have at home.
That issue almost desapear.
I followed allthe steps you explain and I saw that there were no differens, just a little verylittle differences. Checking pixels with the color app from mac, both were the same.
So I picked the oldphotos I edited few months ago and they were ok...
So Idon`t know was happened. This problem appear one day to the other, and dissapear the same way.
But I learn a lot!!!
thanks!
