Were they able to hear audio from another source (MP3 or FLV)?
Were they using the ViOP built in Connect or a telephone bridge or both?
I hate to ask it, but were their speakers muted?
If they were using headsets, were they plugged in BEFORE they launched the meeting room?

Hi
I didn't try MP3 or FLV, but we tested the system the night before and both audio and video were set properly.
We were able to see each other (2 in Saudi Arabia, one in U. S.), but none of us could hear each other. Host and participants all activated both audio and video, only the video worked. Ultimately, participants connected by Skype phone and continued with the video. How do we activate a phone bridge within Adobe Connect?
The speakers were not muted.
One participant was using a headset. I do not know whether he plugged in the headset before or after entering the meeting room.

Audio troubleshooting is hard to do without being in the session, as there are many variables that can affect the performance.
The two most common issues I see are:
Audio hardware is connected to the computer after the meeting has started.
OS has selected different audio output as the output for the sound.
There are other factors, but those two are the most commonly found to be the culprit in my experience.
If audio can be heard from another source in the Connect room, then the problem is around the selected microphone inputs (possibly the wrong one selected by Connect), and the Audio Setup Wizard can help resolve mic selections (and verifies speaker selection). When having a problem I'd start there and see if any of the steps have an issue.

When looking at your audio outputs, right click on the desired output and choose the Select as default option. The OS will then use that output, when available, and go back to the internal option when it is not.

Thank you so much, I will try and check again
