I have a gaming pc with the usual 6 audio jacks. I was using a pair of Apple 3.5mm 4 pin earbuds with Ducabell audio splitter because the microphone wouldn't work otherwise.
The audio and microphone both work but I decided to order a new pair as this old one was having audio issues with the right earbud (the sound was very quiet).
However. The microphone on this new earbud doesn't work and instead makes a thumping steady noise when I try to use the mic.
I remember this was a problem before with the old pair but I can't remember how I fixed it. I have already gone through all the typical steps of checking if it is the default device, uninstalling drivers and restarting, etc.
The old pair's microphone works fine when I plug it in but the new one doesn't work at all. They are the same exact pair. i am using windows 10
Thanks you

Apple used a different connection design than most other headphones, and needed to get a different adapter specifically for them. Also make sure everything is plugged in tightly or else it could be due to not being plugged in properly. With this, we made sure that the mic is on or not, otherwise we found this website mictests.net very effective and good for that. From which we came to know that the mic is working properly now.
