Creative Cloud Node.js (gnode.exe) Command Prompt Problem

New Here ,
Dec 05, 2022 Dec 05, 2022

Hi there, I installed creative cloud successfully, it opened and it updated itself. Everything was fine but suddenly several command prompts opened with the path referring to a not existing gnode.exe!

Inside the cmd window it is written:

Welcome to Node.js v16.13.2.

Type ".help" for more information.

>

I checked the path to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Creative Cloud Experience\libs\gnode.exe

but there was only a node.exe

I tried to change the name, and it went well but after restarting, the creative cloud opens white showing nothing and saying it wants to repair but can't. (there was also same exe file in common folder I also renamed it but still the same!)

Any time I install a fresh creative cloud I have this problem, my laptop is new and it is TUF FX507ZR. I am using windows 11 and cannot downgrade to 10 coz there are no drivers available yet!

Please guide me on what to do to solve it.

Thank you.

reset the cc desktop app:

make sure it's in the foreground, then press:
Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

if that fails, repair per
https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-install-stuck.html

if that fails, uninstall using the correct uninstaller from
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...
and then reinstall*

if that fails, do a clean cc install carefully following each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired

update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app*

*use the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

<moved from cc services>

Thank you for step-by-step guide. The cleaner Tool shows nothing left. Is there anyway to get the CC offline installer for a better installation?

And now I see some of my apps like MS Word does not work or some icons are lost and app shows with white paper icons! You think the prev node.js cmd problem has cuased all these?

i forgot you made a name change.  was that file left in an adobe subfolder?

if so, rename it back to its original name and then rerun the cleaner in case that file was supposed to be removed.

and i gave you a link to download the cc desktop app that should match your os.  that link should be used and the correct file downloaded.
