how? When I open the desktop app I get this screen. No matter how many times I read the thing it stays there, keeping me from accessing the app! See new image. I've reinstalled the creative cloud app. The image in my seconed post is now gone. But the dratted brown image in my first post won't go away.

I'm not sure that resetting the CC app will make this particular alert go away.
The purpose of the Prerelease builds are to find and report bugs so the product team can fix them before moving the feature to the released version. Using an old version of Prerelease does not assist them, as it contains bugs that have been fixed.
There are two ways to make this alert go away:
In addition, prerelease versions are best discussed in the prerelease forum.
In your second screenshot, click the X in the upper right to close the alert.

Thanks. There was no x available in that second screen shot. Take a look! What I finally did was reinstall the app and then, when that didn't get ried of the time to update thingy, I restarted my computer. That worked.
