Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 won't let me authorize using my student account login

I created my adobe account via my university login, and Adobe DE won't accept my student login credentials when trying to authorize.  Anyone know how to get around this?  Because I signed up through my university student account, I can't change my Adobe password or username.
