Digital Editions

I've seen a few older threads on this, but none of those solutions are working for me so I figured I'd post. My Adobe Digital Editions (4.5) will no longer open on my work laptop running (Windows 10 Pro). Solutions I've tried from other threads:-Uninstalling/reinstalling -Running as administrator-Renaming the My Digital Editions Folder-Deleting the My Digital Editions Folder-Installing the program to Program Files instead of Program Files (x86)-Renaming/creating a new folder within Program Files to install to-Downloading an older edition (I could not find a non-sketchy link to 3.0, but I found a 4.0 and had no better luck with it) When I click the icon, it literally does nothing. Not even an error or opening a blank screen. It does not show that the program is running (I'd seen some people suggest their problem was that the app was open but running in a disconnected second monitor screen. I've never connected this laptop to a second monitor, but task manager doesn't show

J'ai trouvé la solution et cela fonctionne avec ADE 3.0 ert ADE 4.5, pour charger de nouveaux livres et pour les transférer dans mes liseuses ( SAGA et DIVA ). Bien à vous tous  La solution n’est pas intuitive, mais elle est relativement simple:1.Trouver le dossierMy Digital Editiondans vos Documents.2.Renommer le dossier:My Digital Edition.old3.Désinstaller et réinstaller ADE, de préférence le 3.0.4.Tester pour s’assurer que tout fonctionne normalement Et voilà cela fonctionne ! j’ai pu recharger les fichiers epub et acsmsans problème, aussi bien dans ADE 3.0 que dans 4.5.

Hallo, Ik heb een online abonnement bij de bibliotheek. Tot heden lukte het om via adobe digital edition boeken te lenen en op mijn Kobo te zetten. Nu loopt Adobe vast. Ik heb verschillende acties gedaan maar niets helpt:- Adobe opnieuw geinstalleerd- autorisatie opnieuw gedaan van mijn adobe ID- andere kobo e -reader eraan gekoppeld- Tijdelijke bestanden van adobe verwijderd De melding die ik krijg is : (reageert niet)  bovenaan het programma als ik deze heb geopend. het is wel gelukt om boeken over te zetten van de bibliotheek naar adobe. I have a Kindle Paperwhite and I've downloaded Adobe Digital Editions onto my Mac to be able to read an eBook I borrowed from my library. I'm using the latest version 4.5.11 and have authorised my computer. When I connect my Kindle via USB and open Digital Editions my device does not appear. No combination of plugging/unplugging/restarting/opening/closing gets this to work. Very frustrating as this is the only way for me to read eBooks from my library!   Is there any official support for this app or a way to check version compatability?

As I previously stated, Adobe Digital Editions stopped launching fully. I downloaded an ASCM file from Libby, but it never translated to an ePUB file (file did not show in My Digital Editions). So, I launched ADE hoping to open the file there, but after about 10 seconds it just closed. I uninstalled and reinstalled with a freshly downloaded file, and that has not changed anything. Wondering what I need to do to get this fixed, as I read all my books on a Nook and have had no trouble in the past downloading converting and sideloading ePUB files to it.

Bonjour,Je possédais ADE 2 depuis plusieurs années, sans le moindre problème ; en voyant une mise à jour vers la version 4.5.2 je télécharge et l'installe sous windows 10.Depuis, impossible d'ouvrir le moindre fichier !Après plusieurs désinstallations et réinstallations, nettoyage du registre, réinstallations d'anciennes versions, plus rien ne fonctionne, ADE refuse obstinément d'ouvrir le moindre fichier et se ferme avec un message d'erreur.Quelqu'un a-t-il une solution, car je n'en trouve aucune ?Et je n'aime pas particulièrement les autres logiciels...Merci

After successfully deleting ADE version 4.5.12, and removing any leftover files in accordance with instructions given by ChatGPT, I was able to successfully start using ADE again until today, when it launches and then closes abruptly about 10 seconds later. I would like to download an earlier version, and I cannot find a link to do so. Any help would be appreciated!

ADE 4.5.12 briefly opens (for like a second) and then quits on macOS 15.7.3. I have tried many things, like restarting, uninstalling and restarting, manually deleting the activation.dat file to deauthorize and then reauthorizing. When I do all that, it works. I am able to open ADE when I delete the activation.dat file, and then reauthorize it. It seems to work. I am able to then open an ACSM file (a library ebook). All is well. And then again, quits. And then, whenever I open it again, it is back to quitting in a second. The time it stays open (if you can call it that) is not enough to do anything, not even ctrl-shift-d to deauthorize (which is why I resorted to deleting the activation.dat file manually). I see a very recent post of a similar problem, but not exactly, as their ADE seems to stay open to do stuff. For years I’ve been downloading acsm files from the library > double-click opens ADE > copies book to Kobo (plugged into my PC) Since yesterday, I’ve downloaded the acsm umpteen times, de-authorised / authorised the PC several times but no improvement. I have most recently tried deleting the registry key   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\AdeptRe-authorising the PC put the key back …. but didn’t change the result … it’s the same error. Hopefully, someone can tell me how to move forward with this … 😮

ADE 4.5.12 (Windows) keeps crashing when trying to download new book or within 3 minute after opening the app. ADE has crashed a lot on me in the past but it was managable, now it is unusable. Did a Windows update break ADE? How the heck do I get my book? Do I need to contact Kobo to get my money back? I liked ADE because I could have my digital library in one place regardless of where I bought my book, if it is going to be this unreliable I am going to have to go back to physical books or DRM free ebooks, this is a nightmare. 

Hi all — I’m hoping someone at Adobe (or anyone who’s solved this) can advise. I’m trying to transfer library ebooks (BorrowBox / ACSM) to a Kobo Clara BW. Downloaden mislukt Fout bij ophalen licentie. Communicatieprobleem met licentieserver:E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY_OR_PKCS12 Ik heb een KOBO ereader en een MAC computer maar krijg telkens bij de boeken van de onlinebibliotheek bovenstaande foutmelding . Zij krijgen het noiet opgelost. Iemand nog een oplossing? Andere ebooks komen wel gewoon via ADE op mijn ereader. Ereader is dan volgens mij wel geautoriseerd.  Krijg de autorisatie ook niet verwijderd. 

J’ai un problème pour récupérer mes livres dans le Bibliorom.Celui qui est sans protection j’ai été obligée de le chercher dans l’onglet fichier quant à l’autre qui a une protection ACSM lui arrive bien dans la liste mais il bloque tout Adobe Digital Editions que je suis obligée du coup de fermer via le gestionnaire des taches.De plus le livre n’est pas resté visible dans la liste mais il est considéré comme y étant 

I have been using Digital Editions for a long time and now all of a sudden books aren't showing up in my DE library.  I know I have several in there.  I tried to dl a new book and it checks out of the public library OK but doesn't get fulfilled and show up in my DE library.I am using a Windows 7 laptiop and started trying to figure this out by restarting the laptop.  Didn't help.  Then I uninstalled DE 4.5 and downloaded it again and installed it again ibut still no books.  DE says it is authenticated on this computer and has worked fine for me for the last year or so without problem.What gives?I'd appreciate any and all help with this issue.  This is a program I use every day.

I have a Kobo Glo and I am now getting the following error message "Your eReader is not authorized to open this book. Because you previously deauthorized your eReader, you need to reimport the book using ADE". I have tried reimporting the book, and even returning the book and then reborrowing it before reimporting it to my Kobo. I have tried deauthorizing the reader and then reauthorizing it before reimporting it to my Kobo. Deauthorizing and reauthorizing my Kobo worked a couple of times, but not any longer. I have uninstalled my version of ADE and downloaded and installed the latest version. I have contacted Adobe and they checked my Adobe account and authorizations and was told that I still have unused activations and my authorizations appear to be in order. I can read my books on my MacBook using ADE, and I can even read them using ADE when I click on my Kobo icon in ADE sidebar and open the book. I have a fixed layout epub I created using Times in the body text and Roboto in the tables. It displays correctly in Digital Editions on a Mac. On the PC, in Windows 11, Roboto in places the word spaces are missing. How can I fix this?Has anyone seen this in Roboto or any other typeface? 

Hello, I’m running Digital Editions on Windows. Digital Editions does not have a native dark mode setting. I read in another thread that high contrast mode in Windows can invert the colors of Digital Editions, so I enabled high contrast mode, but to no avail. Digital Editions is still white as snow, even after I’d tried restarting the app. If you know of a way, please let me know how to make Digital Editions dark. Thanks.Obviously, feedback for Adobe: give us a setting. It’s not complicated.

The text of the eBook I downloaded to Digital Editions is being blocked by the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. How can I fix this? Thank you!

I receive this error when trying to open an .acsm file on my Mac:  "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN:"  I am running Mac OS X 10.8.2.  When I open the ACSM file it is in XML format and is looking for a PDF document.What do I need to do to actually download the file?  Everything else seems to be configured properly in terms of authorization.Message was edited by: JFS-NJ

I'm not tech savvy, just the basics.I have ADE on my apple tablet with all my ebooks.I want to get ADE on my windows desktop.I have downloaded ADE windows on my desktop and logged in to my ADE account.I can't see my ebooks on my desktop?Can you assist me please?How do I see my ADE ebooks on my ADE windows desktop?

When I have more than about 30 markups or notes in a book, Digital Editions reacts more and more slowly and becomes virtually unusable

I recently brought a few new manga ebooks from the Google Play store.When viewing the epub file in Adobe Digitial Editions 3.0.1.91394, all pages seem to be cut off to the size of your screen.There seems to be no scroll bar or zoom option. (There seems to be a zoom option for PDFs, however the feature is not available on epub files.)Due to this issue, most of the manga is cut off and unreadable.  When using the mouse scroll wheel, the program will just proceed to the next page, rather than scroll down the page.  Resizing the window does not resize the content. Changing some monitor setting on Windows, I rotated the screen 90 degrees.  After that, I was able to view more of the page, however the bottom&right side is still cut off.  Messing around with the text sizes does not seem to change anything.Below is a screenshot of what the issue is. Bonjour,J'ai emprunté un livre à ma bibliothèque municipale. J'ai réussi à le télécharger et à l'ouvrir sur ADE sur mon ordinateur (mac). Par contre, lorsque vient le temps de connecter ma liseuse Kobo, elle n'est pas détectée par mon ordinateur ni par le logiciel ADE. J'ai autorisé mon compte sur ADE, je me suis connectée à mon compte sur ma liseuse. Par contre, dans les paramètres de ma liseuse, il est indiqué qu'elle n'est "pas autorisée avec Adobe Digital Editions". Comment faire pour autoriser le programme avec ma liseuse? Lorsque je connecte ma liseuse à mon ordinateur, elle me demande si je veux connecter et la synchronisation devrait se faire...Merci!

My Adobe Digital Editions installation (4.5) is not opening .acsm files. This issue occurs with files from any source, including free Adobe ebooks. I get the following error message: "Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem: E_ACT_NOT_READY" I have been seeing this error for almost a month, and nothing I do resolves it. I have uninstalled ADE and reinstalled it. I tried deauthorizing my computer, but every time I try to deauthorize I get another error: "Unable To Erase Authorization. Please try again after some time." I have been getting this error for about 5 days.Attempts to contact tech support resulted in a 20-minute chat where I was transferred to multiple departments, was greeted with the phrase "I can help you," and then told to go to the forums. As you might imagine, this is extremely frustrating. I am running Mojave on a MacBook air.
