E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN - Tried All Suggested Solution, Can't Fix

Dear Adobe Experts,

 

I am encountering an issue when attempting to open an ACSM file downloaded from Google Play in Adobe Digital Editions. The error message "E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TYPE_UNKNOWN" appears. I have tried various solutions found online, including reauthorizing the software, re-downloading the file, updating the registry, and reinstalling Adobe Digital Editions, but none have resolved the issue.

The software was functioning correctly a few weeks ago, but now it fails to open both new and existing ACSM files. Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello?? Adobe?? Google?? Anyone can offer support for this issue, which is still occuring? We cannot open the books in ADE and we have the right to. What is wrong with the software that makes it cause this error?

      Unfortunately I face the same error message and have exactly the same problem exporting my bought and downloaded ebook form Google Play Books to PDF. I get the same message when i want to open the ACSM key.Please help!

      Tengo el mismo problema desde el 4 de Junio. Me he puesto en contacto con Adobe desde entonces, y solamente recibosoluciones genéricas que NO RESUELVEN NADA.

      Lo último que recibí por correo es que ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS ya no estaba disponible y por tanto no podían ayudarme. En fin un descaro horrible. Que me pagara una cuenta si quería recibir ayuda.

      Estoy muy muy decepcionado con ADOBE. Todas las apps son muy bonitas mientras funcionan, cuando dejan de hacerlo son muy muy decepcionantes.

      Si alguien puede ayudarme se lo agradecería mucho. GRACIAS Y AYUDA POR FAVOR.

      Desde el 4 de Junio de 2025 tengo el MISMO PROBLEMA y he hecho también todo
      lo que Adobe me sugería y sigo sin poder abrir uno de los libros que
      compré. NADIE ME SOLUCIONA NADA Y TENGO DERECHO AMI LIBRO QUE HE PAGADO.
