Guest

I'm trying to open an ebook on my MacBook Pro OS X and when I enter my Adobe ID and password I get a Computer Authorization Error message that says "Activation Server Error- code E_AUTH_BAD_DEVICE_KEY" Anybody know of a solution to this issue?

  1. Choose Utilities > Open Keychain Access Application.

  2. Select the login keychain and unlock it by clicking the padlock icon next to it.

If you do not remember the keychain password, see Resetting your keychain in Mac OS X.

  3. On the right side, there's a list of applications. Double-click Digital Editions.

  4. Select the Access Control Menu.

  5. Select Allow All Applications To Access This Item and save changes.

  6. Launch Digital Editions and you can authorize now.

I tried that procedure and I still have the same problem. Thank you very much anyway. Any other possible solutions?

I had the same issue - tried these steps and it didn't work. But then restarted my mac and tried again. Works now.

I tried restarting my Mac and the authorization worked! Thanks!

However, when I try to download my ebook, this message pops up:

Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem:

E_ADEPT_REQUEST_EXPIRED

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

One of the following system settings (or a combination of them) causes this error:

  • incorrect clock time
  • incorrect date
  • incorrect time zone
