Authorizing second computer with Adobe ID

New Here ,
Feb 14, 2013 Feb 14, 2013

I can't use my existing adobe id to authorise a second computer.

On the second pc it comes up with the message "you can only authorize this computer with an Adobe ID that hasn't been previously used to authorize any other computers or mobile devices"

I thought that I could do this with Digital Editions 2.0? If so, why can't I use my existing ID?

I'm so confused! Plain English version if poss? Thanks!!

Hi there,

Try deauthorizing Digital Editions and re-authorize it..

Try these steps,

1. Launch Digital Editions, Hold Ctrl+shift+D keys.

You will get a new prompt window to erase authorization.

     click ' Erase Authorization'.

2. Close and re-launch ADE

Navigate to Help menu > Authorize Computer.

It should work.

Regards,

Yuvraj.

Thanks for your help!

Fingers crossed this appears to have worked and has let me authorize it with my existing ID.

I understand that software has restrictions as to what it can and can't do but it would help if they could use plain english to explain everything!!

I hope the deauthorize works.

Typical ADE.  Usually it gives a completely cryptic error code and nothing else.

In your case it gave a clear English sentence; that was almost certainly wrong and as you say definitely confusing.
