I want to deathorize my account from ADE, but i get the message that it's not possible and have to try again later. I've been trying this for a week now and it still won't work.
I've tried the steps for Macintosh:
- quit Adobe Digital Editions.
- Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
But this doesn't work because i can't find the map adobe in the Application Supprt map. Can somebody help me ?

I have the same problem. Cannot select deauthorize or authorize in Windows 11.
Have problems with autorisation for a longer period (first in Windows 10), because once in 3(?) months the book I read at the time becomes blocked and after that al non-Kobo books are blocked. Every time I had to update my Kobo Sage and/or deauthorize and authorize my ereader. Now i cannot select deauthorize or authorize at all.
I have contacted the Kobo helpdesk but they only refer to the information already on their site. So no help at all. If anybody knows a solution, please!

I have the same on MAC. I uninstalled it, as I couldn't use it to transfer my books anyway, and the hell broke loose... Now I cannot install it at all...

I don't think so. I just tried after a few days and it went fine. Just give it a rest for a few days and pray... You need a miracle... Seriously.

I just found this solution and it seems to work...
Mac:
1. Go-> Go to folder.
Go to folder dialog will appear.
2. Type ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions
drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
ADE will be deauthorized now.
Now Authorize ADE again [Help -> Authorize Computer].

I'm happy this works for you, but unfortunately I don't have a file Adobe/Digital Editions. So there's nothing to remove (even if I turn on the hidden files)...

I have setup a test windows 11 system just for ADE. Authorization fails. I did follow serveral of the posted fixes. One that is supposed to test the link to the authentication server returns "Service is temporarily not available". I has been unavailable for weeks. Since this is a new install, there are not legacy files or registry entries. As an aside, using Adobe PDF reader, accessing my adobe account works fine.
With ADE being EOL by Adobe, can anyone verify that the authorization servers are actually still available, or has Adobe screwed us all by completely removing all elements of ADE from their environment. I hope this can be fixed. Just because Adobe does not want to support ADE should not prevent us from continuing its use. Depending on the actual status of ADE authentication, there may be another issue with deauthorizing when the maximum authorizations if reached. In the past, the only way to clear old entries was to contact Adobe and have them clear the entries.
