Kobo ereader is not showing up on ADE

I'm trying to download netgalley books to my kobo clara hd but to no avail. I have already downloaded books to this kobo before. I had it authorized to the computer I'm using, but it still wasn't showing up. I deleted the authorization to see if that would help, to no avail. I've tried unplugging it, deleting and redownloading ADE, reauthorizing my desktop, everything I could think of, but nothing is working. Does anyone have any ideas to what I could do? I don't know what else could be happening.

Figured out the problem with the help of kobo chat (finally got through to them).

Would you be able to tell me what worked? I've tried everything and spoke to 3 different Kobo representative. Nothing had worked.
