Unable to Authorize My Device [E_AUTH_INVALID_KEY_DATA]

I recently downloaded Digital Editions to read DRM protected ePubs. Although I was able to create an account with Adobe, and I am also able to log in to that account using Adobe’s website. However, when I try to Authorize my device using Adobe Digital Editions, I get the error message [E_AUTH_INVALID_KEY_DATA] and authorization fails. I would like to know that what exactly am I doing wrong that is causing the authorization process to fail? I would greatly appreciate any help in this regard.
