ADE discontinued support?

New Here ,
Jun 11, 2021 Jun 11, 2021

After finally getting around to downloading ADE on my laptop so I can transfer ebooks to my Nook Glowlight 3 instead of reading them on my heavier iPad, I checked the digital certificate before installing the software.  Apparently the certificate expired in February of 2021. When contacting Adobe's support chat, I was informed that ADE has been discontinued!  I have been able to download ebooks since February, but I am concerned about security and what will happen to the books I have in my ADE library.  Is there another software that can  be used? Bluefire seems to be in a similar situation.

Thanks,

CK

Interesing.  So in other words, they are not upgrading ADE to newer versions. It stands at 4.5.  Here is the list of products supported. https://helpx.adobe.com/support/programs/adobe-support-policies-supported-product-versions.html .  I can't really answer your digital expired certifcation. I just wanted to add there looks like no more updates and limited support.

(Additional misc. info: I don't have much experience with ebooks. I don't buy any. I don't buy from B&N, Amazon or anywhere else for that matter.   I don't have etext books b/c I graduated before the internet. I just use my local library to download what's available. Each library is different. Some use Overdrive/Libby and now CloudLibrary and maybe others for all I know. In the apple store, microsoft store, in the chorme store there are associated apps. Each may or may not be the associated app I listed. Microsoft has no CloudLibrary so I have to use this ADE to read offline. Thought I would just add this misc info in the event it gave you some alternative)  Sorry I couldn't answer your security question .  But I could understand you wanting to move ebook to a device that is lighter (ie IPad to Nook).  Unfortunately, you know more on that subject than I.) Hope others respond.  Would love to know more as well.  Best of luck.

Have you tried on the device's page for support?  I found this link https://help.barnesandnoble.com/app/nook_support/ereaders/glowlight_3/list/c/2463   and info on transfering epub. Link to transer (although it says PLUS) https://help.barnesandnoble.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3378   and this Link https://help.barnesandnoble.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/183/related/1 .

I am sure if you keep deep diving through their support you may find a solution.

ADE support seems dead.
