If I have an object in Dimension, e.g. some packaging, and then add textures + branding to it... can I then export that and import it into another 3D application?
Or would all the textures be lost when exporting to a more generic format?

Export it as OBJ and you will get textures as jpg and MTL file that includes info about material that can be used by other 3d apps for introducing materials.
