DW is in minimal maintenance mode so I wouldn't get your hopes up on this. And even with that said, AI is a very broad and generic term. What are you hoping to see in an AI code editor?

That'll never happen.  As @Ben M said, Dreamweaver is not receiving any new features.

If you have some burning need for AI generated websites, there are other tools you can use.

OR just buy a pre-built template from a reputable online template website, those have been around for as far back as I can remember and come in almost every category you can name. I agree with Ben, AI is a current buzz word and is very broad in terms of what is 'true' AI.

As l said somewhere.......theres no money in building run of the mill websites/applications these days which use generic widgets/coding. It's all out there, whether it be pre built templates, code lifted from codepen/youtube or AI.

The money and skill is in building bespoke applications and to do that you need to understand code. If you want to earn the big bucks then don't rely on AI as it will eventually decrease the amount of junior developers who just click and go.

There's still work for the skilled coder and they will be able to command higher fees as their talent will be highly sought after. Not that it affects my World in any way shape or form as lve reached the end game but for any developer who has a journey still  to go then they need to up their game and not be reliant on frameworks, libraries or pre built widgets because in a few years they won't be needed as AI progresses which will sort the wheat from the chaff

This is what so-called AI's do; exactly what we already do, but then with lightning speed. This is to trundle the internet to find an answer that is already available. AI is merely a Bing search on steroids.

In other words, the coder, the medical specialist, the mathematician, the scientist, the biologist and so forth, is still needed for AI to do its work.

The irony is that politics are also on display:

My question would be: 'Why would you want to create a mirror image of your existing website'? Surely when you develop a new website it's because you feel the old one has served it's purpose. 

Today l read a news article about a particular incident which happened many years ago,, AI was questioned about the incident and AI suggested someone still living, was a murderer, when they weren't..............very dangerous if people start believing in this format. I wonder in incidents such as that can the creators of such AI products be taken to court for incorrect information which could have lasting consequences for those who are wrongly accused.

I don't know the expectations of @Luigi2941351225vt , and @Ben M asked the right question. What do you expect from an AI within a code editor.

reading the previous answers posted by our community, every time the answer is somehow the orientation towards an automated solution generator... or as @osgood_ mentions... a new version template factory.

for my part, and so I join @Ben M , what is @Luigi2941351225vt waiting for, by asking this question, because , and for my own personall use, AI brings me much more since I use it than being a second hand that generates code for me, but much more...

it allows me to optimize my algorithms, il allows me to open new approaches, to refine concepts that I had difficulty to implement in an optimized way...

simply it helps me to continue learning ... while producing and coding like never before

The danger is when it might stop you learning. Developers particularly newbies have become very lazy and want instant results/solutions without fully understanding the basics.

Haven't we all been using 'AI' for years. I mean you could argue that Stack Overflow, Codepen is a form of 'HI' (Human Intelligence) coding resource where you gravitate towards when in need of a solution. The better coders usually use it as reference and tweak the code to their own requirements. AI is really not that different except we don't have to go outside of the editor environment to get code suggestions............as l said the new breed of developers are getting more and more lazy, unskilled and putting their own jobs in jeopardy.

The stuff from Microsoft is called "Copilot" for a reason. And your right. Just as drag and drop tools like Muse never really work or only ever work to a certain point is because they can only ever do so much. When people want more and they do not have that understanding then that is where the problem lies.
If someone is using something like ChatGPT and it produces code or even if it actually made an complete app in some form that someone would think to push out the door an acceptable they have no understanding on what it has done to get there. If someone asked for certain changes or differences or has an issue with it the person  who "created it" will not have the skill set or understanding of what is there or how it got to be there and thus not know how to fix it. And even with the A.I advances it can only go so far for some time in being able to do more than it already did in that use case.

Then things fall apart. If you already understand the code and your turning to stack overflow just to get that last 10% on something your not quite nailing in what your building or your learning something new, skilled but it is new to you and the language or syntax may be different etc then these A.I tools are a lot of help. You got your code running but you want to know if there is an alternate more effecient way for example... these can help too. Like a second pair of eyes to help - A Copilot.
Life, Code and functional stuff will take a longer time for A.I to be a proper source still. Images are a different matter because visual training (And Audio for that matter) are actually easier to train on because there is a lot of replication involved and copy. If you think babies they can understand, visually relate and commicate through expression and sound before their brains can read and write.

Soon there will be versions that will create their own next version, design power storage vessels and produce human-like robots, serve as judges in the supreme court, diagnose an illness and so the list goes on.

Gone is the Copilot making way for the General whose orders us mere humans will be forced to follow. I'll be long gone by then, looking down (or up 😒) at the chaos that we helped to create.

I agree completely., we are entering very dangerous territory in my view. I'm not really wishing my life away but l hope lm not around when this fully explodes. Its been coming for years, automation which reduces the need for human input can never be a positive thing, only for a small group of inward looking morons intent on destroying the planet further and quite possibly themselves.. Intelligent, l think not.

There are already self-learning AIs that learn from other AIs.

One guy used self-learning AI to program a new generation AI that's 4 times more powerful than the previous one.  And he did it without writing a single line of code.  So besides self-learning, AIs are capable of programming bigger & better versions of themselves.  Shades of COLOSSUS, The Forbin Project (Sci-Fi movie from 1970)

Now if we can just figure out why AI systems hallucinate.

After what SCOTUS has done lately, that would be an improvement.  AI systems are agnostic and can't be influenced by wealthy billionaires with luxury yachts & lavish lifestyles.

SCOTUS has deliberated on a subject that should never have been in their jurisdiction. According to your constitution, the topic (Rove v Wade) is the domain of the states where it can be subjected to a democratic process.

Roe v Wade was decided by an overwhelming majority of conservative & liberal justices in January 1973. It gave women Constitutional projection under federal law. 

The states have always decided how those protections should be implemented. In some states, women can be executed; in other states they can't.  In some states, women have the right to defend themselves from an abusive partner; in other states they can't.  And the list goes on & on...

Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health Org was a separate matter brought before the court in 2022.  Dobbs sought to strip constitutional protections from women and remove 50 years of legal precedent.  Dobbs is the case that never should have come before the court.

SCOTUS is in hot water for a laundry-list of other reasons including corruption, no formal code of conduct, lack of ethical oversight, undo influence by powerful elites and p*ss poor public confidence. 

I'm just saying Artificial Intelligence couldn't do a worse job than SCOTUS has done to itself.  This isn't political.  It's observational.

Unfortunately, the whole argument becomes a mute issue when there is no official definition of a woman.
