I’m working on a photography-focused website in Dreamweaver and I’m trying to find the right balance between image quality and website performance.Photography websites often need large, high-resolution images for portfolios, weddings, events, and galleries, but using too many large files can make pages load slowly.I’d be interested to know how other Dreamweaver users handle this. Some of my products only ship throughout California.  Is there a code to add to my website in Dreamweaver to prohibit buyers from purchasing my California only available products. I was told that there was, but I do not know how to create nor implement this.  Please advise. 

Do you have any plans for ever porting more apps to ARM-based systems (or at least allowing emulation)? Dreamweaver in particular. It’s been over two years since Premiere has been ported and no real news since then even with the apps currently in beta

I have atlast had time to explore DW more fully and AI offered these suggestions which have got DW working again for me:How to Correctly Set Up Your Site Open Site Setup: In Dreamweaver’s top menu, go to Site > New Site... (or Site > Manage Sites... if editing an existing definition). Configure General Settings: Site Name: Give your project a recognizable name (e.g., My Static Site). Local Site Folder: Click the folder icon and choose the local folder on your Mac where your .html files reside. Leave "Servers" Empty: In the left panel of the Site Setup window, skip the Servers tab completely. Static HTML does not require a local network or testing server definition. Save: Click Save and then Done. Your files will populate the Files panel on the right.  How to Preview Your Pages in Safari Dreamweaver includes built-in preview mechanisms that handle port binding automatically.   Real-Time Preview (Recommended): Open any .html file from your project. Click the Real-Time Preview

Past updates have removed PVII extensions, but I’ve been able to reinstall with the DMXzone manager. But 21.8  causes DMX to report “menu.xml is corrupted”, and the Anastasiy Manager now flags the plugins as corrupted.After removing  21.8, and restoring 21.7 I still can’t get the extensions back.Does anyone have any info or ideas on how to restore the extensions, or is it just a lost cause?

Since Dreamweaver 21.8 (on a Mac running 26.5.2) some on my old Project VII extensions have disappeared. Not all of them, but more than half. I had installed them using DMX Zone Extension Manager 1.3.0 (newest) years ago. The missing extensions still show as active in DMX. Now, with Dreamweaver 21.8, If I try to uninstall an extension (to then re-install it) I get an error saying that my menu.xml file is corrupt. There seems to be multiple files named that associated with Dreamweaver!Any thoughts?

Hi, so far DW (current version 21.6) had worked ok. Suddenly under current version OS Tahoe 26.1 (25B78) it stopped to function. I have a site definition to my local html css etc files on my MacBook. Nevertheless, to open the local html files within DW via "open in browser" doesn’t work, no matter what browser I added to the browser list. Since years this error has not occured and also restarting DW or deleting / readding browsers to the browser list doesn’ fix the situation. Also rebuilding the local site index didn’t fix it. What’s the reason for this error and how can I fix it? Thanks a lot!

This is what happens with the encrypted question mark.  This is with a normal question mark.I use Dreamweaver for more than 2 decades. This was never a problem. I don't know why the query string is added anyway. In 21.6 this was not added. 

Your latest Dreamweaver download doesn’t work.   It wont allow me to install any of my extensions ( It says "file is corrupt" on every extension when i use either ZXP installer or Anastasiys ).  However , when I roll back to the previous version of Dreamweaver it allows me to install all my extensions with no problem ( proving there is no issue with any extension ) - but is unreliable and crashes whenever I open a PHP page. This has never happened before until recently and the pages in question have been working for years,  Please can you help me

I have not used Dreamweaver in a few months.I just went to make a small edit to a page.I clicked the Put button from the local file and got the error below.I also tested the connection and it quickly passed, so it does not appear to be an FTP issue.I have a 1GB connection, so I do not beleive it is me upload speed.Started: 4/21/2026 1:12 PMConnected to xxxxxxx.shops_enter\shops.cfm - Transferringshops_enter\shops.cfm - error occurred - An FTP error occurred - cannot put shops.cfm. I have been using Dreamweaver 21 since December 2025. Have successfully installed extensions using DMX Zone Extension Manager. I think due to the recent update, the Insert menu does not display the extensions. When trying to upload again or different ones, the same error message appears: the file menus.xml is corrupt.  I have searched and found the recommendation to reset preferences, which I did twice, and am still getting the same message that the menus.xml file is corrupt. Please help.

I have been building and maintaining a couple of websites for my family business. Over the years, and after many updates, there are a lot of redundant media files on the servers (local and public).  Is there an app that will analyse the website and list the media used? Then I could purge the server media and upload only those needed.I tried this years ago using Dreamweaver to “put” files on the server, but it was not reliable. For example: it would miss alternative images in <source> tags.

This issue has plagued me for years and is the single reason I utterly despise dreamweaver it drives me out of my mind even though I have notes switched off it still randomly makes _notes and I end up wasting massive time searching and deleting the _notes plague, good God please help me

Hey folks!You can call me nostalgic, or say I don’t really understand web development, and so on… but I simply hope that this app I’ve been using since ‘97 continues to be with us for many more years.Maybe asking for it to be updated to modern web standards is asking too much, but I truly hope that happens. And if not, at the very least I ask that it is not discontinued.In the end, there are still a few of us (I don’t know how many 🙂) who still find it very useful for working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.Is anyone else with me? 😎Anyway, have a good day.

Dreamweaver was working just fine until three days ago. Unable to quit, re-open app, open saved HTML file, or UNINSTALL Dreamweaver using Adobe Uninstaller, in order to reinstall this app. It is Frozen but nothing has changed on my system. When I tried to uninstall, the error message was regarding complications - unable to uninstall due to unsaved files (?) - all my files were saved as far as I recall.No idea what to try - no response whatsoever. It’s STUCK and so am I.Should I try another uninstaller (CleanMyMacX)?Suggestions, please.
