My Google mojo has deserted me . . . .

Any pointers/recommendations for a script that will permanently resize
& rename an uploaded image on the fly?

ASP Image is a server based script allowing you to do tons of stuff with
images. I'f you're using a hosting company, check that they don't already
have it installed:
