Auto upload compiled SCSS/SASS/LESS output file in Dreamweaver 2017

Hi all,

Is there a way for Dreamweaver to automatically upload the .css file generated by the SCSS compiler, please?

My Site is set up with FTP and SCSS compiling perfectly, and I have upload on save ON.

Thanks,

David

I don't think it will do this automatically, not that I would have the feature activated if it were true. I prefer to test locally before uploading anything.

If you feel that I have not shared your sentiment, please make your wish known to Adobe by going to the wishlist (read: Feature Request).

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!

Hi Ben,

that you prefer to test locally is laudable, but then you might as well disable automatic upload completely.

After you tested everything locally you can then synchronize everything with your server and start the whole testing process over again.

Again, it does not make sense to automatically upload all your project files, but to leave out the CSS file.

Hello Nancy,

A Happy and Successful New Year to you too.

As I told Ben before, it is laudable that you work that way and it makes sense for larger projects, especially if they or part of them are already live.

I was not asking which workflow to use though, I was inquiring why the automatic upload does not include CSS files generated by SCSS.

Our test environment is always on the server that will later be turned into the production server when going live. As we create multiple smaller project per month that is the fastest way to go.

Indepent of what workflow you prefer. The fact remains that the functionality of the automatic file upload on save ist incomplete for SCSS. If Adobe thinks automatic uploading of files should no be happening then the functionality should be removed. - Which would mean I would no longer have a reason to use it too.

Btw. I realize this is more or less a duplicate of other requests that have simply been marked as 'solved', which only goes to prove that there are more people that would like the automatic file save functionality to be complete.

Regards

Fred

It should upload the final CSS file providing you have enabled the upload of dependant files.

But like I said, I never use this workflow for my own reasons.  So I can't test it, sorry.
