Big files problem

I have sql file downloader from my phpMyAdmin. Size of this file is 19,5 MB. When i trying to open it in DW it's loading for a while, and then... nothing, empty grey. FIle is opened but no content to watch 😕

I was trying to open smaller files: 18MB - no problem.

Is there some cache problem or I can change temp memory size in DW settings to fix it?

I'am using newest CC version from creative cloud.

Why are you opening SQL files in Dreamweaver?

If you need to modify SQL data, do it through phpMyAdmin or a CMS that's connected to your database.

It's easier for me to make mass change. I need to move sql file to new server and also change all http:// to https://

For mass changes, use Find & Replace in phpMyAdmin.  It will go much, much faster.

I know this function but sometimes I need do do it offline. So problem with DW still existing I trying to figure out what is the problem with DW, not how to change it in database because i know basics in phpmyadmin.

You don't have a local testing server with phpMyAdmin?

Dreamweaver is the wrong tool for working with a gargantuan SQL file.

I often have to do the same kind of operations that BryanPS describes., I mean opening an SQL file and then handle a search / replacing in it, it also happen with XML files type, or JSON files also... and there DW is really out of order... completely unusable. often it hangs up

I have posted many times buges , use case and so on... but DW still remaining slow and hanging on such operations... no improvements or consideration in this regard

@BryanPS, so far, the best way I found, for managing search functions on large files, remains NotePad++, but this soft is also far ahead for encoding support.

Yes, you are completly right man! DW was't able to open big file so I had to do it in Notepad++ -> no problem. Why free software is better than monster DW? That is strange Just as you said it's not only problem of sql files but also other files (BIG files). DW is useless in that cases 😕 I hope they will fix it in the future.

beta is open to the public, so I don't reveal or broke anything by saying that...

concerning the search  and replace module in Dreamweaver's, I have posted a big dozen of bugs and features request... perhaps the one concerning big files and XML files was posted three or four different times (but some was on private beta forum, so I can't post link here...)

any way, all have been closed... while the bugs or the needs are still present or needed... so why are they closed?

as it's difficult to use the bug's platform to dig them all back ... here are just three of them

That is strange... I had also problems with big CSS files from Presatashop default theme. DW was stopping/lagging every few seconds 😕
