Since installing Big Sur 11.4 I am unabe to upload my Dreamweaver files to my server. Tried with Filezilla and had same problem. Worked extensively with web hosting company to fix. No go. Test connection in Dreamweaver to server works, but file upload times out. Any ideas on what's happening?

Since the problem exists in both DW and Filezilla, it's fairly unlikely to be a problem with both programs. Your hosting company has likely changed something and either the rep doesn't want to admit it, or the they don't know how to fix it and you need to escalate to the next level of support.

What does the FTP Log in DW say when you try to upload?

1. Go to Window > Results > FTP Log to open the panel
2. Try uploading a file
3. See if any errors are coming up in the log

It says waiting for server...Operation Timed Out...and then nothing. There are no errors in the log.

Then the problem is somewhere between your computer and the server.

Try connecting to server with another device over another network.

If that fails, then you know the problem is with the server and not on your end.

Who is your hosting provider?

You might have a different network to try in your pocket.

If your computer has a wireless card, and your cell phone has hot spot capability, you can easily switch networks by connecting to the hot spot and testing an upload there.

I found a modem probelm in the past by doing that.

Are you uploading to the proper ROOT directory on your remote server?

Site > Manage Sites, Server, Root DirectorySite > Manage Sites, Server, Root Directory

I would actually imagine this is a permissions issue. Make sure in the system preferences - security and privacy the apps have the permissions they need through the firewall.
