Cannot paste into 'Find and Replace'

I need to replace a footer (84 words) in my entire website. Normally I would have used find and replace, and be done within seconds. However it seems that I can now only replace very small bits of text? Is there a way around that ? I would hate to have to replace the footer by hand in every single document.

Looks like F&R has a limit of 1232 characters.

I have no problem pasting text in the F&R panel.   Or better still, open document in code view.  Highlight text you want to find.  Hit Ctrl+F.  The text is auto inserted into the Find box for you.

I have to ask you another question though.  Why are you not using Server-Side Includes for your site wide footer?  You could edit just one file, upload it to your server and be done with this.

Alternatively, if you had used a DW Template to build your site, you could edit the footer in you main template file and have it populate to all your child pages.

I will check into using Server-side. But in the meanwhile I just experimented and it seems that the max amount of words you can paste in Find and Replace is about 300. Can you see if you can paste over 300 into your DW?

I don't know.why it has a character limit.    Are you going to report it or should I?

I will, thanks!
