Clarity Cookie Consent Questions

New Here ,
Aug 27, 2025 Aug 27, 2025

Okay so starting October 31st, for us to be able to use Clarity we need to put the API code from Clarity (Microsoft) into our website. I have been able to obtain the code from Microsoft but they will not assit with how to integrate it into our website using Adobe Dreamweaver and that I would have to ask Adobe Support since it is their product.

Adobe support says they will not help me since it is a Microsoft product. Thus I am stuck in the standard support scenario, finger pointing and eventually blaming the end user all while say "thanks for the money, your on your own".

I need to know where to place the api code that microsoft gave me into our website. IF any one can help I would appreciate it. I have till October 31 before our serivces get downgraded if we do not have this in the site.

Choose the Install Manually option on this page:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/clarity/setup-and-installation/clarity-setup

As far as I can see, you just need to copy and paste the code they give you into the <head> section of your pages, then upload your changed pages.

Pasting it into your pages just before the ending </head> tag at the top should do the trick.

Jon,

Thanks, we have the initial script uploaded into the page. This is about the location of the consent dialog referenced in:

Clarity Cookie Consent API - ConsentV2 | Microsoft Learn

Sorry not a computer programer just a small business owner, aka chief cook and bottle washer.

When you need legal advice, do you call a plumber?

When you need accounting advice, do you consult an auto mechanic?

Hire an experienced web developer to help you. My fear is that you don't know what you don't know, and could be putting yourself at risk for more serious problems later.

EU web mandates are complicated and require some specialized knowledge for business sites to stay in compliance. There's more to it than just copying & pasting codes.

This is a standard consent from a tracking script to a cookie consent manager. Clarity is tracking software and needs consent to run in a compliant environment. If you do not have the expertise to manage this type of installation, I would recommend exploring a consent platform to keep you compliant. Depending on the complexity and traffic of your site, you could start with something basic like Cookiebot ( https://www.cookiebot.com/ ) or more complex solutions like UserCentrics (maker of cookiebot - https://usercentrics.com/ ) or Onetrust ( https://www.onetrust.com/ ). From those platforms you can easily control consent for all scripts that load on your website from one central location.
