Close Windows Extension

I am using running DW/CS4 on WinXP. I have successfully downloaded the
CloseWindow extension (MX322322_Close_Window.mxp) as indicated in the Adobe
Extension Manager. However, when I open a file that needs this option I am
not able to find the CloseWindow object that can be used to code this
feature. I have looked in every possible menu item in DW without success:
to include, TagInspector > Behaviors. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Never received a screenshot, but please do not send things to people unless they ask you to. You can always post a link to the screenshot on your site, or at some image service if you really need to.

Is the extension I was looking at the same one that your are working with?

Are you trying to say that Extension manager do not say anything about how to access the extension (with the extension selected)?

Have you tried looking in the Insert bar for a Close Window category? Is that category present or not?

I do not have any recommendations as feel that there is no need for such functionality as I believe that users know how to close a browser window.

Danilo,

Is the extension I was looking at the same one that your are working with?
[Lewis] Yes.

Are you trying to say that Extension manager do not say anything about how to access the extension (with the extension selected)?
[Lewis] Yes.

Have you tried looking in the Insert bar for a Close Window category? Is that category present or not?
[Lewis] Initially I look into the Insert Menu and submenus. With your message, however, I decided to take a look in the Customized Favorite Objects dialog box. Found it. It installed in the drop down list under the Available objects list in Customized Favorite Objects found under Inserts. Thanks for the added questions.

I do not have any recommendations as feel that there is no need for such functionality as I believe that users know how to close a browser window.
[Lewis] I understand. However, my BOD likes this feature. Again, thank-you.

Hi Danilo,

Thanks for this response. I have capture a screen shot of what displays in my Extension Manager and emailed it to you. If this does not look as you suggest in your last paragraph, is there a Close Windows extension you can recommend? Or code?

Thanks,
Barbara

Typically an extension will list in the Extension Manager lower pane how to access the extension within the Dreamweaver UI.

I think I found the one you are talking about:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=322322

When I installed it, the description says to find it in the Object palette under the Goodies category. This must be an old extension, as the Insert bar hasn't been called "Objects" for at least 3 versions. Which is probably why the Goodies category doesn't show up while a "Close Window" category does instead. This is likely due to the extension using an install syntax that isn't used any more and isn't supported very well.
