computer broken down

My computer broken down and had to be replaced with a new one. Sadly, there is nobody from Adobe available to talk to. I have no idea what the next step is. Should I cancel the old connection and start a new one? I have no idea and there is no clear advise for persons like me. SAD.

    Adobe's customer service isn't equipped to help you with IT issues like dead computers or network problems. They deal mainly with installation and billing issues and also can't really help with "how to use the software" problems, which is why you're being sent to the forums.

    As for the blank account page, make sure to turn off any advertisement or pop-up blocking add-ons you may have in your browser when viewing Adobe's sites, especially the store and account areas. I've had several locations in their site fail to load due to either Ghostery or AdBlocker, pausing or turning them off while on their site fixes that issue for me.

    If you don't have access to the old HD, to get your site files back...

    1. From your new copy of DW, go to Site > New Site
    2. Add the site's name and browse to a folder you want to use as the local root
    3. Click Servers
    4. Click the + to add a remote server
    5. Enter a server name and add your FTP info from your hosting company (don't forget the server Root Directory)
    6. Test the connection. If it works, Save
    7. From the Files window (F8 or Window > Files if it's not open) click the Get (down arrow) icon
    8. When asked if you want to get the entire site, click Yes, sit back, sip some coffee and wait for the download to finish
    9-?. Rinse and repeat for each site you had on your old computer

    Do you still have your old computer? Even if it did break down, there's a fair chance you may manage to save your work on the old hard drive(s). It depends on the type of malfunction, though. If your hard drive crashed, no such luck - but from your description I expect a different hardware fault.

    And your website is not gone - it's online, right? Which means your website files can be downloaded locally, and opened in Dreamweaver.

    Small tip: always ALWAYS create backups of your work on two separate external hard drives, and perhaps consider using a service such as dropbox to have an additional online backup. Computers break down at some point. That means you will lose your files unless you made backups. Create at least weekly backups.

    taking into account that i am a subscriber, I can only assume it is days old. also to click on 'manage plans' is of very little use because it opens a blank page. I downloaded Dreaweaver again, no problem but the start looks different. off course i lost all my copies of my website. there is very little help from adobe, nobody to talk to, nothing. Very Sad.

    Before I proceed to answer your question, which version of Dreamweaver do you current have?

    If you are a Creative Cloud Subscriber, all you need to do is download the CC Desktop App and start reinstalling your software using the Adobe Id used to purchase the subscription...

    If you happen to get a message about too many log-ins...

    1. Go to the Adobe website

    2. Log in with the Adobe Id used to purchase the subscription (upper right of screen)
    3. Click Plans & Products
    4. Under Creative Cloud membership, click Manage Plan

    5. On the right side of the screen you should see a list under Activated Devices, click Deactivate for the computer you no longer have
    6. You should now be able to log into your CC Apps on the new machine and continue from where you left off
