My connection to my GoDaddy host has always worked. After 6 years, today it did not. We tested to make sure the connection was there (thru Filezilla) which narrows the problem to Dreamweaver. What has slipped? We checked FTP # & password. All fine. Firewall down. All the right boxes checked. Supposedly no "updates" on my really old Dreamweaver program, CS3. HELP!
When defining your site, did you include your server's Root Directory? I don't have CS3 so my screenshots below may be more advanced than your version. But you get the general idea.

More Options:
If you still cannot connect to GD with CS3, use Filezilla instead.

Possibly a corrupt configuration. You might try creating a new site definition and deleting the old one.
Or use links below to solve common problems.

I re-installed my Adobe program, found the file that David Powers suggested might be corrupt, but it was just recently created with the new install -- & I'm still not connecting. Next step - pay Adobe for assistance. Might require an upgrade? It's been six years since the purchase . . .

You wont get much help from Adobe support if the software is not current, they will just suggest you come here.
