Connection File: Why wont DW use my Connection File for Dynamic Content Development?

I have an existing site for which I would like to start using DW to do Development work.  My frustration is that anytime I want to dynamically pull data from the DB, I have to use the DW wizard to create the DB connection.  I dont understand why I cant simply include the connection script with MY connection variable names in order to use the DW dynamic Data features.

IS there  a way around this?  I want one connection file in a location of my choosing that matches the the rest of my site's method for connecting to the database.  I'm not saying that DW WONT use my connection script...it does and it works...BUT It wont let me use DW interface to pull data from the databse.

I hope this makes sense to someone.

first you need to set up your site configurations , choose Site menu and click New Site , then go with the instructions.

Unfortunately, I do not believe there is a way to change the default location of the connection folder.
