If I have a number of DW files open and I copy and paste from Text Edit on my Mac, some files accept the pasted text while others refuse to. Pasting can also cause DW to crash - several times a day.
It also crashes several times a day upon saving a file???? And has done so for many years on different machines.
Can you try 2 things? First, follow this KB article and re-create your user configuration folder and see if that helps. If you find that you have to create a new user account and need help migrating other docs to the new user please post back and we can try to help.

All is OK now. I installed DW 2020. Not only does the fan not come on, but I can find/replace 5,000 docs at a time without the fans. I can also copy and replace properly AND DW now no longer ceashes when I save a document. Magic! I've had my first crash-free day of DW in the 15 years since I started using it.
Thank you.
