I am having a hard time understanding why I cannot highlight text, right click, and make link while in the WYSIWYG for DW2017.
In DW2016, I had no issues with this, and now I can't turn anything or any text into a link.
Am I the only one having this problem?
OK. Support for ASP files has been steadily declining for several versions. I think MS Visual Studio is on track to phase it out as well. You can submit a Bug/Feature Request from the Help menu.
Until you switch over, I would suggest dropping back to an earlier DW version that had more support for ASP files. If you didn't keep your old version, see screenshots below.

You can see in the drop down menu that I have my cursor over the "Make Link" and it's greyed out.

You're working with Classic ASP files?
Can you use the Link field in your HTML Properties Panel? See screenshot.

But this doesn't explain why the "Make Link" option is there, but not functioning...
