Creating a calendar css with handwritten events

In looking for calendar ideas to put on my website, I came across this one that I really, really like: http://www.seiu.org/community/realobject/april_2007.cfm

I am very new at Dreamweaver (I have version 8), but I still tried looking at the page source to figure out where the template came from. Can you look at it and let me know if you have any ideas?

That is a simple graphic that then has an image map across it on the dates.
I suspect that this is all built by hand.
