Database Connections in Dreamweaver CS5

Explorer ,
Mar 13, 2011 Mar 13, 2011

Hi I hope someone out there could help me with this.  I am new to dreamweaver and I am  following a tutorial, Building your first dynamic website, I am not having any problems following the tutorial.  My problem is that when I need to add a connection I click the "+" button in the database section and nothing happens.  I have tried to find a setting or something but have no luck.  Hopefully someone out there can help me.

Thanks in advance.

Not all site setups are supported for DB connections.  Search the forum on "database connection greyed out" and there is one thread which will likely give you your answer.

Hello, I will find out if the page you are working on is a page that works with web serverexample: PHP, ASP, COLDFUSION, JSP, because if you're trying to make aconnection to the database with an HTML page, it will be impossible.

Hope that helps.

Sorry, I have not replied sooner.  I have fixed my problem by uninstalling Dreamweaver and MAMP then reinstalling it.  I don't know if it was just a setting I did wrong or what, but it seems to be working fine now.  Thanks to all that have replied.
