Delete a record without a delete page

I have a Div on my page with a to do list in a tables in a decending fashion. I would like to add a "Delete" button at the bottom of the table so I can simple delete that record when I complete it, and have the list refresh. Is there a way to do this?

You will get the best effect if you use JS, XML and server side code to do this.
