My computer crashed this morning and so after restarting I used CleanMyMac to do a clean and tidy.
Now when I use the Real-time Previewer I get a blank screen in Safari and the 4 squares in the middle. With Mozilla I get a start screen!
Does anyone know what has gone wrong?
Any help greatly appreciated.

If you are getting a Mozilla start screen and formatting and images are not working, you may need to do more than just re-install DW. When you say your Mac crashed, what happened? If there is deeper corruption in the OS you may need to restore the OS from scratch, or at minimum create a new user account on the machine as yours may have become corrupted.

Hi Ben
The crash has happened twice in the last 3 days. It just goes straight back to the login page and asks for the login password.
BenPleyser I have uninstalled and then reinstalled DW but with no result. I looked into the Preferences and ticked the box called Preview using temporary file under the Real-time Preview tab. This was a pure guess and cannot ever remember doing this before, but it worked and my pages are opening as before.
There was a new update for DW maybe this made the difference?
Again, thank you for your invaluable help!

I have now noticed that in Firefox it works, except the links and in Safari the page is all unformatted and no images.
I have just upgraded to Monterey hoping that this would sort he issue but it is exactly the same. I am uploading the whole website and will hope that all is well.

Thanks Nancy for the links.
I know that it can be chancy but it felt at the time the right thing to do. If all is not well then I will do a reset and start from scratch again, especially after it crashing.
