Downloading Old Versions of Dreamweaver

New Here ,
Mar 11, 2020 Mar 11, 2020

I've bought the monthly subscription of Dreamweaver and have downloaded the newest version (Dreamweaver 2020). Is there a way I can get the older version ( CS6) either with the new version or to replace it.

Not from Adobe, well, not using the CC Desktop App anyway. They only allow the current version and 1 back through the App.

The standard CS6 would require a separate activation/serial than CC. I don't know of a way to get the CC version of CS6 anymore.

Personally, I use CC2015 for production with 2020 installed in the background for testing. It's much more like CS6 (in stablity and functionality) than any newer version of DW. You can still get it, last time I looked, through ProDesignTools.com. Jus

Just follow the "Very Important Instructions" to set the cookie on Adobe's site and you should be able to use the links on this page to get the installlers from Adobe's servers...

EDIT: DW CC2015 is no longer available. The above information is outdated.

CS6 is no longer available.   Unless you previously purchased CS6 directly from Adobe,  the Customer Care agents can't give you a download link for it.   Owing to the new policy that went into effect last May, it's very difficult if not impossible to obtain pre-2019 versions of Creative Cloud now.

The links posted on ProDesign Tools' website are subject to change without notice.   Adobe have already removed several legacy installers.  So if you find an old installer, make a backup copy for the future.

I have CS6 but I am receiving an error message when trying to load. It says another installation is in progress. Any ideas of how to get past this?

Unless you have an old operating system that can support it, CS6 won't install on new computers.  Besides, it's 10 year old software that hasn't been updated since 2012.  The web has changed too much.  Outdated web software won't help you much.

Which operating system do you have?

CS6 won't install on Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave without terminal workarounds.

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/install-creative-suite-mac-os-sierra.html

CS6 cannot be used on mac OS Catalina, Big Sur or Monterey.  32-bit software won't run on Apple's 64-bit architecture.

CS6 will never be tested on Windows 11.  It might run in compatibility mode or not.

What surprises me is that you are talking about downloading and the message mentions an installation.
What link are you trying to download from?
Have you tried switching browsers?
Which OS and which version?

LATEST

There is no student version of DW.  All apps are the same regardless of payment plan.

And 2015 is outdated. Just use the latest version (21.6) in your Creative Cloud app.

Most Creative Cloud apps work on these systems, no more than 2 versions back:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit) versions 24H2, 23H2; Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2;
  • MacOS 15 (Sequoia), 14.7 (Sonoma), 13.6.7 (Ventura).
