Hi,
When you click a keyword such as </font> the whole thing highlights.
How do you then cut or copy the highllighted text.
The option is greyed out as unavailable when right clicking.
It would be oh so usefull to be able to copy the highlighted text, rather than having to carefully click and swipe to highlight it.
Og course double clicking the keyword such as </font> selects the word only (font) and this can be cut or copied, not very usefull, if cut it would leave </>
Is there some way to copy or cut the whole keyword without having to click and swipe.eg </font>
I realise that you can click before or after the keyword and use the cursor keys to mark the text.
I personally don't see the point of being able to select the ketword with a simple click if you can't do anything with it!
Thanks for reading, any help would be appreciated.

The highlighting you're seeing when you click within the <font> tag isn't meant to be a text selection highlight. Since you don't actually have anything selected when you click inside the tag, the cut/copy options aren't available. That particular highlight is there to show you which tag you are working in, and gives you something to work with when accessing some of DW's other code editng fucntions, like multiple cursor editing.

Are you in Design View or Live View? Yes, it does matter when working with code.
To toggle between them use Ctrl + Shift + F11.

There is a way to select the tag with just 2 clicks, rather than click-swiping though...
1. First, go to Window > Toolbars > Common and verify it has a check by it
2. In the Common toolbar (the vertically oriented bar) click the 3 dot icon on the bottom
3. In the dialogue that comes up, make sure "Select Parent Tag" has a check and click "Done"
From there on out, you can click anything within your <font> tagset ( <font>click something in here</font> ) and then click the Select Parent Tag icon (angle brackets with a pointer arrow between them). That will make a text selection of the entire <font> tagset and its contents.
Here is some good info on what's available in dw's code view interface: https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/writing-editing-code.html

Hi Jon,
You are a mine of information.
Although I think it is silly not to be able to copy the keyeord/tag whatever it's called once it has been highlighted by a single click (oppertunity lost)
You have given me a lot to read up on in the link, how much of it will sink in is another matter, you know what they say about old dogs!
Many thanks
