So just to clarify, to run DW 2015 and 2017 at the same time, starting from a machine that is currently running DW CC 2015

    1) Do I have to update to CC 2017 first, then go into previous version and install DW CC 2015 again?

    2) What happens to extensions in the meantime that I have installed for DW 2015 using DMXZone's extension manager?

Multiple versions can be installed on the same machine, however one needs to be shut down before the other will run.

To install CC2017 on a machine that already has CC2015, all you need to do is launch the CC Desktop app and click the Install button next to DWCC2017.

When the first dialogue window appears, click ADVANCED OPTIONS (a lighter gray option toward the bottom of the dialogue window) and uncheck the box for "Remove older versions".

I don't have any extensions installed currently, so I'm not sure how the new install treats them, but they will remain in the old installation.

Yes you can - however unlike when it was in the all to brief "beta" (which it left WAY too early) - you can't have both open at the same time.

This is something Adobe should address - especially when they expect us to test software then release it too early full of serious bugs that were reported and not fixed.

I have old and new versions of several CC products on my work box.  It poses no problems for me.

Follow the instructions here to load older versions. They can be installed on the same machine but won't run at the same time.
